PORTFOLIOS > KITCHEN REMODELING
Kitchen Reconfiguration
Vestavia, AL
Outdated, nonfunctional and cramped are the perfect words to describe this previous kitchen. A young family with busy schedules needed more space to live and entertain and their existing kitchen just was not working. By removing a fireplace from the front den, and removing walls separating the areas between the den, kitchen and existing laundry, a quad beam was installed to provide support to this new space. LVP flooring was installed throughout for ease of cleaning and function with small kids and a rambunctious golden doodle who wasn’t willing to sign a photo release. The central island houses the induction range, downdraft and microwave drawer to be used while family and friends gather around the slab size countertop. Montauk quartz adorns the stained island and White dover perimeter cabinets while being accented by a porcelain monochromatic subway tile. A partial wall was removed and new windows installed centrally over the new cast iron sink to provide both light and eyesight to the outdoor pool area. A new bar area was created with pullout storage and custom glass front cabinetry to display their stemware. A cleaning pantry was created by the exterior door for ease of access and to keep away from little hands. The existing laundry was moved downstairs to make room for the new custom pantry. The pocket door to the pantry makes for ease of access with those large Costco purchases. Whether it is weeknight homework, a meal for two or entertaining friends and family, multiple spaces are now joined to bring friends and family together in this beautiful forever home.
