A DIY barnwood vanity that does not allow your plantation shutters to open just was not cutting it for this couple anymore. In addition to the aesthetics, the previous homeowner had installed jacks underneath the floor that had failed and was causing that all-too-often roller coaster effect on the bathroom floor. They desired a place that they enjoyed being and a place to just relax.

The only area that remained in location in this bathroom was the shower. Every other area was quite literally flip-flopped. The vanity and tub traded places as well as the closet and water closet. The entry door was relocated to make room for a larger and more organized closet space. The gray hexagon floor gave a more modern backdrop to this new primary bathroom retreat. The floating vanity and slab front pantry towers provide a clean and modern feel completed by the quartz countertop and clean line plumbing and lighting fixtures. Mother-of-pearl herringbone tile was installed on the vanity wall to provide texture and visual appeal. Opposite of the vanity, the existing Victoria and Albert tub was reused and installed in an alcove adorned with a porcelain individually laid subway tile and finished with a quartz ledge which gave the new roman tub filler the perfect home. The water closet is now appropriately tucked away but still has its own personality with the encaustic floor tile per her request. The corner shower boasts of large format tile, multi-textured penny round floor, decorative marble panel and his and her niche storage. The control valve was installed at the entrance of the shower to prevent you having to race the water out of the shower just to turn it on while the shower head, hand shower and diverter valve are conveniently located together. The quartz corner bench matches the wall cap, niche shelves and curb to provide a finishing touch in this luxurious space. The multi-switched and dimmed lighting allow you to truly treat this space as the bright cheerful area to begin your day or the serene spa for a deep soak.
